This service is termporarily suspended due to COVID-19, But we hope to resume normal service shortly. 

Please book your transport as follows:

• If it is your first outpatient appointment at a particular clinic please telephone the Patient Transport Team on 01249 813604 between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
• If it is for a follow-up appointment or you are being admitted please contact the relevant department at the hospital or treatment centre.

Please note that at least 48 hours notice (excluding Saturdays or Sundays) is required for your transport. Not all patients qualify for patient transport and the Practice can advise on the local transport services available.

It is important that you inform the Surgery if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Surgery that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the patient list.

Please provide at least 2 hours notice to any appointment cancellations.

You can cancel your appointments through the following options:

• Call on 01249 444343
• Reply to any appointment reminders or confirmations
• Login to SystmOnline and navigate to the Appointments section
• Send an email to Rowden.surgery@nhs.net
• Drop into the Reception desk and ask one of the Reception team to cancel your appointment
• Post a note stating you wish to cancel an appointment through the Surgery mailbox with your Name, Date of Birth and Postal Address
• Login to the NHSapp (if you have already registered for this service) and navigate to the Appointments section.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments. You will be asked to confirm the preferred contact telephone number when you book any appointments.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change postal address, telephone numbers and email addresses.

The practice has been an accredited training centre since 2005, with Dr Brown, Dr Durrant and Dr Waters as our registered GP trainers.

Being a training practice involves the training of clinicians at a variety of levels, from medical students, still at university, to newly qualified doctors undertaking their foundation years and registrars moving towards qualification as General Practitioners.

The length of time a trainee would be with the practice depends upon their stage of training. Medical students are generally with us for a few weeks, whilst registrars may be at the surgery for up to a year.

Newly qualified doctors and registrars hold their own clinics, under the supervision of Dr Brown, Dr Durrant and Dr Waters whereas medical students assist the doctor during your consultation. This is tremendous experience for medical students; however, if you do not wish to have a student present during your consultation, please inform the reception staff prior to seeing your doctor.
